The project objective is to create a software suit in order to add USB
connectivity to an STR711 based board connected to a PC.
The USB class for the board (and related PC driver) can be Data Interface (10)
, Serial RS232 interface (255) or any USB class that can provide high rate data
transfer.
The project is made up of two entities, the STR711 board firmware and the PC driver.
The Board firmware main requirements are the following:
-The USB driver shall provide simple API to the application in order to transfer data
to and from the PC.
-The firmware project must be delivered in source code as a Rowley CrossStudio 1.3 build 5 solution.
Alternative development solutions may be taken into account provided that the delivered source code
will be easily portable into the target environment (no libraries, no macro, ...).
-The firmware project must not require any specific RTOS because it will be integrated
in an existing board support Framework which has its own OS. Therefore the interface to any OS must be
clearly described.
-The firmware project must be provided as C source code.
-The firmware footprints for RAM and Flash usage has be as low as possible (figures will be agreed)
-The firmware driver shall provide a data transfer rate of at least 2Mb/s without using
all the CPU processing power (the target is less then 40% with 33 MHz CPU).
PC driver main requirements:
-The USB driver must be compatible with Windows2000/XP/Vista platforms
-The USB driver must be provided as follows: ready to install driver binaries and
VisualStudio solution using the DDK toolkit (specific version for the compiler/toolkit will
be specified later).Other development environment proposals have to be declared and agreed.
-The USB driver shall provide simple API to an application in order to transfer data
to and from the board.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
