This project is in two parts. You may bid to do both or just for the first part (you will still need to show it working), but you cannot only bid for the second part.
Some general notes:
The project will be done using moai ([login to view URL]).
The provider will supply the code/content and the rights to everything that is developed for this project. Includes, but not limited to, the engine, framework, tools etc.
Part 1: Game Framework / Engine
The main part of this project is to develop a game framework/engine complete with tools for making the games. Tools will include things like map editor and object editor. Note that the engine does not need to be able do everything through tools, the people using this will be able to write code for advanced features but as much as possible should be done with tools.
The engine that is being created is for creating isometric simulation games similar to the likes of Theme Hospital, SimCity and all the other various games in the similar genre.
As Moai is multiplatform the engine should be able to accommodate all sorts of screen sizes and input control (Keyboard/Mouse or Touch Screen)
The engine will allow players to play campaign or free play modes. It should also have challenges and achievements.
Part 2: A complete game made using the above engine
To demonstrate the engine and to show that it is fully working you will create a fully working and polished game using the above engine. The game will be similar to Theme Hospital.
You will need to provide the art work and game design for the game yourself.
When you are bidding please give a brief explanation as to how you would go about designing the engine.
Also please put the letters "KSG" in your bid otherwise it will be rejected.
KSG.
