Hi, I need software to remove lines in a text file that contain strings from another text file. The files will contain mainly text data and URLs. The software should then output the result. It should work as follows: -Load the first text file which will be a TXT or CSV (60-300MB large) -Load the second file TXT 10-20MB large -Search for lines in the first file that contain strings from each line in the second file -If a line in the first file contains a string from a line in the first file, delete it -Save the first file (as an optional setting) -Save a text file of the first column of a CSV file, without commas or quotes (as an optional setting) *the software should have a preset settings file for all settings and files involved, and be able to run with a commandline argument to use preset settings and output the files automatically instead of waiting for a user input **the software should have a GUI **I will require all code at the end of the project and I would prefer this made in VB.Net Thanks for bidding and please see the example output below. My proposal: 1- Develop a .NET application(C#) to load both files and make modification to the first file. 2- UI: In the UI the user will be able to select both files(Open File Dialog) and a RUN button to start. 3- A progress bar will display the process percent until it finishes the whole process(The process will run in background to avoid the UI to freeze). 5- Two Checkboxes to check options "Save first File" and "Save First File 1 Column" 4- Then progam can be run with command lines to start working with predefined options passed in commandlineÑ - First File Path - Second File Path - Save First File - yes/no - Save Fist Column - yes/no Or I could create an alternate console application with no UI to the the task with command line parameters so you can have both applications: first one with UI and the second one without UI.
