Image feature extraction and processing tool in Java

A standalone image processing application written in Java with a framework that can be easily extended. Full source code to be provided with comments. The application should be able to do the following: read an image (gif/jpg/tiff), extract and store image features in user define-able data structures, ability to manipulate image with live preview of changes, ability to save extracted features to a text file, have Java AWT or Swing user interface. A common usage scenario: load an image, extract feature of interests (eg. selected regions in an image), cluster features and show clustering results overlayed on an original image, save image, output feature data (eg. size/shape) to a textfile, batch process many images. The application can be put together using open source tools (eg. ImageJ) but the main requirement is to have clear source code and ability to easily add/extend application functionality. I'm looking for a Java application developer with an interest in image processing techniques. Knowledge of data mining and/or machine learning is an added bonus. IMPORTANT: For your bid to be considered you need to provide a portfolio and source code sample relevant to this assignment. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. Source code must be fully commented 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
