Functional Requirements - Email Creation System The purpose of this project is to build an application that will ultimately; * grab an XML file which is generated from SQL Server * grab an appropriate XSL file * merge the 2 together to make a customized document * prepare that document to be processed as an email * drop the “email?? into an MSMQ for pickup by a local Email Sending Service That is the gist of it, however, there is a bit more to it than that. This is going to be a little more like a suite of applications that all serve a common theme. The common theme is the management, creation and distribution of customized content that is sent to end users in the form of an email. The application will be integrated into existing business processes and will, at first, augment these processes and eventually, replace many of them. The total application should include, at minimum, the following. Each of these pointers will be discussed in more detail later in the document. **See attached document for full details. Sample XML and XSL files, as well as any SQL Schema and existing VB.NET source code that is\maybe needed to complete this project will be provided to winning bidder or potential winning bidders. **Please note that I have been a member of RAC for many years now as a seller and this is the first time that I am acting as a buyer. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--**code must be properly structured to be deployed to Buyers system by buyer. Seller will not have access to our systems.** b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform This system will be run on a Windows 2003 Server webserver, with a Windows 2003 server backend running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.194 (Intel X86) Aug 6 2000 00:57:48 Copyright (c) 1988-2000 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: ). The mail server is Windows 2003 server running MailEnable professional. These systems are connected via a 100M LAN. We have the MSXML4 installed. We have .NET framework 1.1.4322 installed and we will not upgrade at this point. Write access is provided to the iUSR account in one directory only on the webserver. This directory is titled **Content\** which resides just off of our root directory. Enable parent paths is on in IIS. Send detailed error messages is on in IIS. This system runs in its own application space in IIS6
