Windows Setting Validation Script

Hi, I require a script written in VB which can be run with minimal rights and use either inbuilt Windows components or components available in the official Windows Support Packs i.e. Microsoft tools only. You are free to use any scripting technology that again Windows can understand by default, i.e. WMI, VB etc. The script must run on Windows 2000 and Windows 2003. A normal user account privileges will be the foundation, if the account needs elevated rights these must be documented. However, on testing I will create a normal user account and grant the rights documented so it is paramount these are correct that the scripts are designed under these conditions. ## Deliverables We will work together to best achieve the deliverables below and if any part cannot be delivered we can be slightly flexible on that. However below is a baseline and draft of the deliverables required. I require the following functionalty from the script: - Able to run as a batch script/service - Able to run with standard user priveleges (select elevated priveleges must be documented but at the same time just making the account admin is not acceptable) - Inputs and outputs of the script will be in CSV format - Will handle a prepopulated CSV file with IP settings and verify these against actual settings on the box. Must be able to deal with Multiple NICs and have validation to work with Multiple NIC's. Flag any incorrect settings. Will verify IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS1, DNS2, DNS3. Verify NIC speed (if possible) - Verify NTP servers from prepopulated CSV, output PASS/FAIL to CSV - Verify Static Routes from prepopulated CSV output PASS/FAIL to CSV - Verify existance of Registry key, must allow for simple duplication of this test, to be edited by user by duplicating the code and inputting the registry key location and a title of the test. Output PASS/FAIL to CSV - Verify exe file existance, must allow for simple duplication of this test, to be edited by user by duplicating the code and inputting the file path and a title of the test. Output PASS/FAIL to CSV - Output hard disk sizing to CSV - Output failure events in last 24hours to CSV, event source and ID will suffice - Check all automatic services are started, output PASS/FAIL to CSV - Check Device manager for non functions hardware (i.e. yellow exclamation devices), output PASS/FAIL to CSV - Ping default gateway of each NIC, if present, output PASS/FAIL to CSV - If W2K3, check TS is responding by succesfully telnetting to 3389. Output PASS/FAIL to CSV - Check 'Guest' Account is disabled. output PASS/FAIL to CSV - Check input CSV for domain, if there then check box is on the same domain. RAC Standard Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
