repair CURL

Greetings, I need my CURL installation repaired in the meaning of being able to set those 2 options in PHP by curl_setopt: CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT_MS CURLOPT_TIMEOUT_MS Now basically I don´t know why they are not working currently, wether php needs to be updated or curl itself, but fact is when I set those options my scripts won´t give me any errors but as well they won´t use those timeout values (in the meaning of if I set e.g. a timeout_ms of 500 curl would still try for seconds to connect to the other server instead of canceling after 500 ms). So your job would be to fix that AND give me a short written guide on how to do myself on my other servers. I guess for someone who knows what he is doing that would be a job of minutes, so my budget is rather limited on that one.
