Hi, It surely can be done using Java Applet but the Applet must be signed using certificate. And the certificate or the root certificate must be trusted by clients. If the clients are under your control, then no problem since self-signed certificate can be used. If not, you must buy code signing certificate from trusted CA (ex. verisign, etc) Thanks, Robbi

I'm very meticulous and know how to interprete, very well, lines of codes! If an exe file is downloaded using java applet, an APPLET CODE must be included inside the web page. The only thing to do will be to identify the applet code and remove it if that is what you are lokking for at the end.

hi there you need to understand that the solution is pretty simple - it's just literally hardly 10 lines of code. However, in order for that applet to run anything on client side the applet must be signed and the certificate must be trusted by client. That's not something that happens by default and the client will have to explicitly push the button saying he trusts 2 days is because I need 1h to code and the rest of the time to make sure you have signed the applet properly and potentially to argue :) it's not working the same way on all browsers (as some browsers have the security predefined, some systems have security settings disabled for editing by users and the permissions problem for that applet can be solved only by system admit, etc..), executable are system-bound and some exe-s won't work on all version of OS. So if you have different set of executables per OS - that greatly changes the scope. I'd give better advice what you need if you tell me a bit more about your site, who the users are expected to be and what exactly the executable is going to perform.
