Tool for synchronizing flash video and transcript presentations

We have scrolling transcripts that are to run in synch with Flash videos of speakers (typically 160 x 120 pixels in .flv) and their slides (bitmaps and swf) in e-learning courses. We believe that Flash needs all of these media types to be placed dynamically into the main Flash Movie as Flash movieclips. Thus we need a versatile universal Flash movieclip manager tool that is itself a Flash movieclip object--one embedded into the main Movie timeline, and containing a script to set timing of the elements so that they appear in synch. To manage the video and slide files, this Flash movieclip manager tool should -- - load one or more Flash video files (FLV format). - associate one or more slides (a slideset) for each video clip. Slides are shown sequentially at predefined times as the video runs. Our own e-learning program will produce a .swf file containing the scrolling transcript, which will scroll at a predefined speed from frame to frame. It should receive a framerate value for its target .swf based on settings provided by the new Movie clip manager tool. To synchronize related scrolling transcript files, the Flash movieclip manager tool should have a special control script checking the video time, transcript position, and slide currently loaded. This script should call a "new slide" loading process as the time for the next slide comes. The control script also should change two global constants--"prevslide" and "nextslide"--which are used in the scripts associated with "FF" and "REW" button for users to jump to the prev/next slide based on the new place in the movie. Openworld's main course creation program will generate a data file readable by Flash script. The contractor developing our new Flash movieclip manager tool should specify the type and structure to be used in this data file. Our main program will be able to open and directly edit SWF files to update all necessary Flash script constants set by the new clip manager tool. The clip manager tool thus must place all constants specified by the Contractor as adjustable constants into one global constant pool, located in the root SWF movie file. ## Deliverables Continued from the description: The Flash movieclip manager tool must enable smooth playback and navigation even with long (15-60 min) Flash video-based courses in a normal LAN environment. A working prototype should be ready within four days. Bidders should describe the approach that they propose (see attached expanded spec for options). Bids from offshore and onshore companies are welcomed. Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code and documentation in English of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, including a software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform All Flash-enabled web browsers (Flash 7 at a minimum; Flash 6 or higher preferred)
