I have a link exchange service. You can see it here: [[login to view URL]][1].
I would like to display a thumbnail of each site next to their description. You can see the websites and descriptions here: <[login to view URL]>.
So when you click the category, you will see a small thumbnail of each different site.
There is already has a place holder for the thumbnail and a switch to turn it off and on.
The system used to use the alexa thumbnails and now that is no longer public so i would like a script that i can run that gets/updates thumbnails of each site in the directory.
I would also like the thumbnails to be stored in a subfolder under the website or using javascript so the pictures cannot be linked to.
Dont forget that my system already has a place holder for the images and a switch to turn them on and off. I would think the bulk of this would just intail creating the script to create the thumbnail and then storing it to a directory. Then adding in the code into my current site to link to the image.
Also, the thumbnails will not be realtime. I want a page that i can click on a button to generate the images once a week. Or maybe setup a cron job.
