Document Creation and Management

I require a? highly configurable? front-end user interface that will support document creation, generation and management. The document? content -- i.e.? data, layout and ‘look and feel’ -- will be? captured on user interface forms or windows with rich text editor.? A? Document will be made up of? Sections such as cover page,? table,? body, etc. Each? Section will? have a separate user interface window. The Application will create the Document by putting the Sections in the order as configured. The? Document must? be able to be saved, print previewed and printed? within the Application? and also? generated as a Word document (retaining all the? document format and properties as displayed on the Application). The Application will have the ability to rename a suite of documents as per the specified file naming convention, and update the file name? of eaco of the document? when a field value that forms part of the file naming convention is updated.? The Application will have document version control,? user guide on each section of the document, document? progress indicators and document review distribution.? The Application will also have a Document Feedback and Software Support tracking mechanism. An email functionality is required within the Application to distribute documents (attach a file), send and reply to document feedback and log software support. A detailed business functional requirements is available. ## Deliverables My considerations in choosing the Software Developer for this project are as follows: (1) Hire a Software Developer who offers the lowest bid to deliver the product as per my specifications as proof of concept. The lowest bid does not always mean inferior product however at a worst-case scenario, I can sacrifice the underlying quality of the code as long as I see the Application functional end-to-end. OR (2) Hire a Software Developer who offers the most reasonable bid to deliver the product with the prospect of partnership. With this option, I will need guaranteed product quality ??" not just functional but quality in the underlying code and systems architecture. I will request time and materials quote to determine if the bidder would give me reasonable cost and time estimates, and therefore an indication of potential long-term business partnership. Whichever option I choose, I will need the Application to be maintained and supported over the life of the Product. There is no? hard deadline set at this stage - between 6-9 months is acceptable to me. However before the word is started, I will be setting an agreed? delivery date.
