Convert existing Java application to android phone application

I have a very small application written in Java that I think will make a good Phone application. My skills in phone application are limited, (I am still learning android studio) so I would like someone help with the converting process. The application uses existing XML file as the data source which must be able to be updated when new data becomes available. I don't need to be able to update the data file with the application just be able to replace the file in the future upgrades. The program searches this data file for a matching record when found produces a table with between 3 to 20 rows of data with 3 columns of data, I will provide the screenshots. The existing code is in JAVA so it should port over without a problem. I use Github for my version source so you must know how to setup project using Github and do pushes and pulls from Github. If the Exact match record is not found it looks for close matches by adding or deleting some additional data to the value entered. This is done by consecutive searches again the database until a close match is found. I want to keep the JAVA code as close as possible to existing code for the search engine so update with it will stay in synch with my existing project. I have used freelancer in the past with good success and am open to skilled but new programmers because they seem to be hungry for success. I am on a limited budget because this is a project that I am not sure the demand will be large enough to repay my investment. So I am doing this as both a learning project as well as hopes that they will be a demand for the final project enough to repay me and make a few dollars. I would like whoever starts the project to be available in the future to help with upgrades and deployment issues. They should also be willing to work with me while I learn this new development platform. This project is part of the large existing project and the person who helps me convert must be able to use Eclipse IDE to pull the code from the existing project.
