Hi There are some standard procedures that is executed for this purpose 1) Indexes review: you should remove redundant indexes and create the indexes based on most executed queries 2) Check parameter sniffing issues. It generates an execution plan based on the parameters which leads to performance degradation. OPTION (RECOMPILE), local variables, or query hints will be used to remediate this issue. 3) Query should be analyzed on performance bottlenecks and should be rewritten if necessary. 4) SET options should be reviewed and optimized. 5) Long running transactions should be minimized or eliminated. 6) BLOBs should be handled outside database. 7) Temporary objects should be minimized or rewritten according to indexes. 8) SP should be parametrize in order to reuse them. 9) Maintenance tasks such as index rebuild and statistics update should be scheduled consistently to prevent deterioration Please discuss details over chat.
