Hi, I have been developing websites mostly with Joomla since 2008. I'm therefore familiar with all the versions from 1.5 to 3.3 and qualified to handle your project. Lately I have upgraded a number of sites from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 3.x. I have completed some of these projects on freelancer.com. I suggest you read my reviews. For Joomla upgrades my approach is usually to start from a blank Joomla 3.3 installation because in my experience so-called automated scripts are not reliable enough and more time is spent fixing the issues than migrating the site as I do it. The other advantage with my approach is that an inventory of the content is made before the transfer and it allows to clean up unwanted content and not transfer possible malware if your site was hacked. I start by making an inventory of all the extensions and check if they are available for Joomla 3.3 and if not look for alternative solutions. Then I transfer the content starting with user groups, users, categories (and sections) articles and then extension specific content if any. Then I create the menus and finally I redesign the template. I usually like to use protostar as a base. It ships with Joomla 3.3 and is responsive and minimaist. It's therefore a good base for customization and inheriting the responsiveness allows to be compatible with mobile browsers.
