The idea behind this website is to enable Ethiopian origin citizens around the globe to connect with each other so that Ethiopian consumers can access to the products and services offered by their countrymen. Architecture and Design: - The website will be deisgned in such a way that may tell the audience a connection their ethnicity. A site they feel their ‘own’. It could be vibrant usage of Ethiopia flag colors (green, orange, red), famous landmark background images etc. Website will be Mobile Responsive. However, website language will be English only. The currency will be in US Dollar Here, there will be 3 types of users a) Website Admin b) Business Owners / Advertisers c) Users / Customers Registration for Users / Customers will be free. Revenues generated from the website will be from BO/Advertisers – paid subscription Content: As it is still in the preliminary stage, the high categories could be similar to the followings: 1) Real Estate (sub category sales, rental/leasing, real estate broker house etc) - For instance, when people are posting, they will be asked if it’s buy or sell property or rental only. Then it will have name of the area or zip code and then with no of bedrooms, bathroom, total square footage, type of house (single family/townhouse/condo/multi family/land etc). 2) Professional Services (Lawyers, Doctors, baby sitters etc). 3) Travel (Info of the travel agents, promotional fares as part of advertisements etc) 4) For sale of products (anything they want to sale) 5) Jobs 6) Restaurarant/Cafes 7) Community (sub segment could be events, groups etc) Every section should come with respective filters; meaning, real estate can be searched with zip code or by price or by number of bedroom and bathroom or square footage. Professional services could be filtered by amount, distance etc. The entire site should have a central search box for easy search (full text search with filters). People can sign up with their phone number, Facebook, twitter, or email account as well beside signing up on the site. Also all the businesses who will be advertising through the site, will have a capability to see their transaction history. Package purchase/renewal/upgrade etc. need to show transactions for payments made. The main page of the web site should have an area dedicated for the current Ethiopian news. We shall share with you the source and you can see if they offer news via APIs which can be integrated. Format can be changed at your convenience. We think if the sites constantly updating Ethiopian news, it may make them feel more connected. Also first page should have some areas for Prime advertising (2-4) as well as not-so prime (For non-prime areas like - if the move the mouse, the picture gets bigger…something like that). We will get the payments for these advertisements offline. We are looking to have this easily accessible from both smartphones & tablets. The site should also will able to become friends with each other like Facebook (favorites or something). So that whenever they log in, there should be an area that shows them any updates from their friends or they can chat. With these friends, they can do one touch phone call, video chat, voice chat etc. I meant, if they have phone number listed, it just comes to their dial pad (meaning number gets copied to dial pad) and they dial. Or can connect over viber/skype or text over whatsapp if the other party has these services. Also along with businesses, people can create their own page to kind of having a personal page. Future plans: Phase 2 of the website of will be based on the idea that will enable consumer to send gifts to their home country from Abroad. These gifts will be bought from country A and to be delivered in Country A whereas customer is sitting at Country B.
