Check and/or Uprgrade Drupal v5 website

Durpal 5.23 is the highest version of the Drupal 5. So this will be a direct major version upgradation. We will not need to perform any intermediate minor version upgradation. We have made successful upgradation of drupal 6 to 7. We have worked on drupal 5 websites. We will follow the process of upgrading drupal 5 to drupal 6 as described in the upgrade.txt. We will do it on a development server. Therefore we need to first set-up your existing drupal 5 in a test-server capable of running drupal 5. We have the local development server ready what we use for working on Drupal 5 projects. We can set your drupal 5 on our local server. We can see that on TeamViewer if you want. We only have one query here. Is you drupal 5 installation a ‘multisite’ setup? The steps we should follow for the Upgradations after setting up your website in our local server - 1. Disable contributed modules and switch to a core theme (Bluemarine or Garland). 2. Remove all of the old files and directories from the Drupal installation directory. 3. Use the new Drupal 6 files and directories. 4. Copy back the backed up "files" and "sites" directories to the installation directory. 5. Apply the proper database configurations. 6. Then we will install the contributed modules used in the drupal 5, if available in Drupal 6. 7. We will then Run the update.php. Then we will check how successful the up-gradation has been.

I have solution for it that we can take clone of site and put it on sub folder and we can upgrade version there and we can make changes there. and if its working fine then we can make same changes on live site. I have 3 year of total exp PHP/Drupal. Hi, based on your project I can not bid. The latest version of Drupal is 8. But not all modules are ready for the D8. I can make a serious bid only after I look your page, how complicated is, how many pages the site have and how many modules and which modules are installed. Because we are talking about a D5 site, maybe the best solution is to build a D7 or D8 site and copy/paste or import the content. Depends on uploaded content quantity. Csaba

i can do that, i have more than 6 years of drupal development... first of all i will have to upgrade to version 6 and than to 7. the biggest problem is to see if your modules have the drupal 7 version.

Hi, I am used to work on a daily basis with: Drupal profile therefore I use to deal with different module versions: either core or contrib modules. The process to upgrade your site is pretty straightforward, at the end of the day it depends on the contrib modules you may use since they may not go from a mayor version like 5 to 7. I propose to first upgrade 5 to 6 and check what happens. Then if everything is ok we can go on to D7. My current quotation is for: - copy your website in our development environment; - update from 5 to 6; - check if everything is ok - if ok, deploy in your production environment; - evaluate the possibility to update 6 to 7;
