MODIFY EXISTING PROJECT CODE

I have a small DLL used as a COM OBJECT for my VB6 program. The DLL has two functions related to (any version) Excel Workbooks (containing multiple worksheets) which are exported. To protect the functions from unauthorised use by external developers, each of the functions have an encrypted password passed to the function as the First argument. The program will decrypt it and compare it to the password text and if the same, it will proceed with processing or else exit.

Function 1:

(ExplodeExcel) The Workbook is passed to the DLL function and

- it will open the workbook and

- loop through every Worksheet in the Workbook

- it needs to go to a cell address (passed as an argument - to be added in the function and validate the text that MAY be in the cell and

- extract the Worksheet and filename it with cell text value. There is some simple validation - if the cell is blank then we don't extract the worksheet

- log line are written to a log (WriteLog is a new function which need some changes as shown in the code comments attached)

Function 2

(ProtectWorksheet) When this function is called, it will have the name/path of a previously extract worksheet and a password. The function will use the password to protect the worksheet , write log lines and return a success exit code or a failure exit code

Function 1 needs modification to simplify the extraction by cell address. Previously this function was looking for the first tab worksheet of the workbook within a LOOKUP range and was extracting based on some complicated rules. This is being removed and replaced by the cell address argument, which has the text which forms a temporary filename

There are two new (untested) functions in the code - one finds the path to the VB6 app (Function - ReadExePath) so that the Logs and Archive folder paths (where the extracted worksheets will be saved) can be found . These 2 functions need minor changes and make it compilable.

Over all, with simple testing on 2 Workbooks for Function 1 and 2, I estimate the job to be around 5 hours for a competent Delphi v7 developer. I need v7 and don't want to (currently) migrate to later community edition. The attached pas file has notes for required changes.
