Just recently I converted a VBA macro to Python which did some math on a bulk of 15000 rows and we cut down the execution time from 25 minutes to 45 seconds (https://www.freelancer.com/projects/Data-Processing/Replicate-VBA-Macro-Python/) I did a Python equivalent of several Excel built-in formulas and did all the calculations in memory.
