Greetings, I have experience with various controllers - Atmega, PIC, 8051, Freescale and have done a lot of interfacing as well - SRAM, DDR, FPGA, RTC, Battery Management etc. Please see my profile for details. I think I can assist you in this project - however need to see the existing schematic and PCB in detail to evaluate the complexity involved. Since you need a working controller PCB - will have to estimate the cost for PCB, BOM etc. as well.
