PROJECT: ONLINE TRUCKING BROKERAGE The project is an online marketplace where people can list any goods or articles they want moved, transported and delivered from one location to another in Nigeria, by land, rail, air or sea. The website would enable the user to get bids from hundreds of highly recommended carriers or transporters and ordinary non-verified carriers and transporters registered in the website. REGISTRATION To begin the company will register free on its general platform as many carriers and transporters as possible that would be persuaded to use the site as a medium to get shipments and make extra revenue. Some of the registered carriers and transporters will be persuaded to get verified and be upgraded to higher categories to qualify for recommendation to potential shippers and customers. Potential shippers, companies and the general public will also be encouraged to register and open the website account to enable them begin to ship their goods to destinations nationwide. Having an account a shipper the opportunity to access the carefully verified and recommended reputable carriers, truckers and transporters who will bid to deliver their goods. HOW IT WORKS - Carriers and transporters are categorized and registered - Shippers/Customers list goods, property, equipment, etc. for delivery - Shipments are assigned to highly graded carriers/transporters or placed on bid - Customer agrees price - Customer pays for shipment into a dedicated escrow account and arrange pickup with carrier - Carrier/transporters pick shipments and proceed to deliver - The website monitors the movement of the transport vehicle or equipment online from start to delivery - Shipper is penalized if delivery address is changed after carrier arrives at confirmed delivery address. - Shipper pays demurrage for each day the carrier is delayed from making delivery at destination.
