I read an interesting article describing a new heavy metal chelating agent. The new agent is designed to safely remove certain heavy metals from tissue (intracellular focus) unlike current (extracellular focus) chelating agents. The work would require the following, but not necessarily be limited to: - lab - working fume hood - various glassware, heaters, solvents as mentioned in the article I believe a senior undergraduate chemist, or higher, could perform this work if provided the proper resources. At this point, I simply wish to get a better understanding of the cost (time and money) involved to create the new agent. If the cost estimate appears within my resources then I may later pursue it. For now though, I am only seeking your professional opinion on the cost (time and money) required. Your opinion will be based upon information contained in the original article (which I will share with you) and information from your independent professional experience. Thank you.
