And using any lame LPF it was not possible, even using libpcap mmap procedure and NAPI enabled driver it was too slow. The only idea left was to copy packet directly from network device driver to userspace. Implemented a hook in Broadcom Tigon3 ethernet driver to copy packet to userspace directly, without adding any additional latency of copying it to kernel’s skb. It’s threaded applications which send and receive SMS’s on each interface simultaneously. All information related to incoming and outgoing sms are stored in MySQL database.
