The Archive & Museum Group of Queen Mary’s Hospital Roehampton commissioned us to create two separate exhibitions over the course of three years. 'Repairing the Ravages of War 1915-1960' and 'A Very Special Hospital 1960-1998', both of which served the purpose of maintaining awareness of the hospital’s distinguished reputation past and present. The exhibition makes use of historic cine film, artefacts, photographs and 120 oral history recordings. My involvement and responsibilities in this project included: • Selecting, digitising and editing archive cine film footage to create a looped educational video. • Compiling and editing oral history recordings, designing and developing a touch screen listing post kiosk. • Digitising and touching up archive photographs for use in the interpretation panel designs. • Working with the museum archivist to help select artefacts for display cabinets.

By the time I joined the company in 2007, it had already established itself as the UKs most popular online wallpaper store and now offers over 4000 wallpaper designs. My responsibilities and involvement included : • Continuous maintenance and redesigning of the front end. • Functionality updates and fixes. • Creation of modules such as the 3D roomsets and the Design Ideas carousel. • Backend and database management. • Maintenance of the HTML and CSS markup and the PHP and mySQL code. • Designing and building a separate mobile version of the site.

I was drawn to the idea of game design and development because it encapsulates a lot of creative practices into one package, with the final result benefitting and bringing enjoyment to the user. Creating computer games is the combination of a methodical programming and the creative freedom of design, animation and music; using this to form an interactive experience that can educate and inspire was a really appealing medium for me.
