We are a group of people educated in USA, UK, India and Canada freelancing from Nepal. Most of us have just finished college and returned home. We are working in various reputed organisations back home like education, journalism, writing, project development etc. Yet, we also want to do some additional freelancing. The idea is we want to grow it as a company and thereby developing Nepal, too, as an outsourcing destination. ------------------------------------ Sample Article: (I have found buyers at GAF ask for samples for almost every project. So, I have decided to put an article I wrote for someone about an year ago on my profile. While, this article is originally written by one of team members (who looks after the writing part), it might not pass copyscape now as it has already been sold. I can guarantee originality if you like the writing. ------------------------- Fighting Global Recession At a time when many businesses are pulling down shutters unable to withstand with the brunt of global financial crisis few companies are performing enviably well. Companies ranging from retails chains like Wal-mart to healthcare companies like Abbott Labs and Internet based industries like the gaming industry and online advertisement industry have proved themselves immune to the financial crisis, at least in the short term. The trend is clear. People are postponing the purchase of things that require huge amounts and cutting down on their expenditure on luxuries. But they are not cutting down on basic necessities and petty expenses. Whether there is recession or not people need to eat. And industries that cater to this need of the consumers continue to flourish. McDonald's record sales and earnings is not magic. Amid the global financial crisis, it is reported that the popular Ham Burger company's earnings have exceeded the Wall Street's estimated earning. With addiction, pollution and various other factors people are bound to get sick. When people get sick the industry that benefits is the healthcare industry. At hard times, people might postpone or cut down on cosmetic treatments, but they will do everything they can and spend whatever amount necessary in case of life threatening diseases. So, healthcare companies are not depressed due to the financial depression. Johnson and Johnson, Novartis, Kraft Foods, Costco Wholsale and Procter and Gamble all are enjoying good sales. Particularly, Abbott laboratories, which sells medicines and nutritional products in more than a hundred countries, has reported an increment of 18 % in its sales figures in the last quarter compared to the same last year. And people don't seem to be able to cut down on addictions no matter what. Cigarettes and alcohol are not basic necessities. But still, addictions are addictions. Those who have experienced will know it. One might be totally broke, but he/she will spend the first dime he/she gets his/her hands on to quench his/her addiction. Global financial crisis is no crisis for tobacco company Philip Morris International. The projection that Cigarette and tobacco sales will grow by 28 per cent in the next three years is easily convincing. Likewise, it could be people have resorted to entertainment to take a break from the stress ensued by various impacts of the global financial crisis or that they are freer than before to spend more time gaming, the sales of online gaming related products has increased unbelievably. According to a research conducted by Nsales PD group, as compared to last year video game sales increased by 18 per cent overall with 35 per cent increase in software sales and 5 per cent increase in hardware sales. While the total sales of the industry last year was $ 1.12 billions, it rose to $ 1.31 this year. Gaming Companies like Sohu, Tecent, Baidu and Ufida all have indicated that their business is doing well. One interesting finding of the research; majority of the participating people said it is one of the last things to cut down during the global financial crisis. People have also not cut down petty expenses on toys for their kids. Toy industries are not affected by the recession as people continue buying toys of small worth. While the US toy market is stable, the industry is growing with new market avenues in China, India, Brazil and Russia. And people who have more money and more stress are busy gambling online. Online Gambling Firms in Tel Aviv are rejoicing. People - particularly in recessions - don't move around much and stay back at home and therefore have more time for gambling. Firms like Playtech, [login to view URL] and Mansion Poker are a happy lot. Not only individuals but businesses are also cutting down on their expenditures and waiting to see where the global recession heads before making decisions on major investments. However, they are not waiting to decide on petty to medium expenditures on online advertisements. Instead they are spending more for online publicity by cutting down on other kinds of advertisement. Interestingly, while mortgage companies are the ones worst hit by the global financial crisis, their advertisement expenditure in Google ads increased by 84 % this year. Another search engine kaboodle is also enjoying increased sales. Another indicator of the growth of online business is HomeAway, an online vacation rental firm based in Austin. The company's soaring sales is also an indication that people might have reduced on their travel budget, but have not stopped traveling. HomeAway, which provides an alternative to travelers not wishing to stay in hotel rooms by listing 0.3 million private homes across the USA and Europe, reported an increment of 58 per cent in its sales this year. Finally, diamonds!!! Don't you think it is one of the high end luxuries and that expenditures on diamonds would be cut first in case of financial crises. Diamond traders don't think so. Major players of the industry are confident. In a meeting participated by the top brass of various companies of diamond industry like Letseng Diamonds, Damas International, Dhamani Jewels and Chow Sang Sang Holdings International everyone concurred at the point “Diamond trade will continue to thrive even during recession.” Probably diamond users are so well off and detached from the ordinary world that they are untouched by the happenings of the outside world!!
