Native Italian speaker, EN-IT translator and proofreader. I am a specialised translator of contracts and policies, having worked for Lloyds of London and various insurance brokers for over 20 years. I also have extensive experience translating websites, articles, interviews, video games and video subtitles. Service Description: Born and bred in Italy, I have enhanced my language skills with over 20 years work in the banking and insurance industries as a translator and proofreader. I can translate from English to Italian with ease and accuracy as I have in depth knowledge of banking and insurance parlance in both languages. In addition to my translating and proofreading skills, I am very computer literate - both literally and figuratively! In 1992 I was one of the first in Italy to own a home PC. I assembled it myself from scratch and because of this, understand the internal workings as well as the functionalities and, as early as 1997, I discovered the joys of the World Wide Web. As stated, I am very skilled with computer applications; I am very proficient with MS Office, all of it (I have also created a number of database applications with MS Access, in AON they are still using a couple of databases I created for them). I am a fast learner; I enjoy discovering new applications and programs. I am also familiar with basic HTML and Java. I use a CAT tool; more specifically, I use Wordfast Anywhere. I have experience running a back office, managing the work of 8 people. I oversaw the organisation of an office from the year 2000 onwards, being put in charge of ISO9001 Quality Assurance. I have worked with outsourcing, analyzing requirements and testing the programs. I am an expeditious internet researcher and enjoy translating web pages encompassing a wide range of topics.
