Job Title: Digital Standardized Testing Application Developer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced application developer to design and create a custom-built testing application for a standardized digital assessment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a user-friendly, adaptive testing platform that incorporates various features to enhance the testing experience for students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop a customized testing application tailored to specific requirements and functionalities outlined in the project brief.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather detailed requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of the desired features and functionalities.
3. Implement multistage adaptive testing (MST) methodology to ensure the test adapts to individual test takers' performance.
4. Integrate universal tools, such as a built-in graphing calculator, annotation tool, answer choice elimination tool, and other necessary features.
5. Ensure the application is robust and can withstand brief internet outages, allowing uninterrupted progress during testing.
6. Implement a marking system that allows students to flag and review specific questions within a test module.
7. Develop a testing timer functionality that counts down the time remaining in each module, with optional timer visibility and alerts.
8. Incorporate a built-in Desmos graphing calculator for use in the math section, as well as support for students bringing their own approved calculator.
9. Provide access to a reference sheet containing common formulas in the math section.
10. Enable annotation capabilities, allowing students to highlight sections of questions and leave notes for themselves.
11. Develop an answer choice eliminator for multiple-choice questions, enabling students to eliminate ruled-out options.
12. Ensure seamless integration with other College Board and partner systems to enhance the overall user experience for students and educators.
13. Keep abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in application development to recommend improvements and enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in application development, with a strong portfolio of relevant projects.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and technologies, and a solid understanding of adaptive testing methodologies. Python, Java, JavaScript, C/C++, HTML, CSS
-You have to be a good designer(Designs should be on Figma Files)
- Familiarity with educational assessment systems and standardized testing protocols is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively gather and convey technical requirements to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality, reliable applications.
