I am an MSc Biostatistician from Canada. I work for a clinical trials research group as the in-house statistician. I perform power/sample size calculations like this all the time, for studies that would be quite similar to yours. When I do a sample size calculation, we would have some back and forth to establish reasonable estimates from the literature for radial artery occlusion rates in the two groups, and establish a MCID (Minimally Clinically Important Difference).
