STOCK FILES IMPORT PROGRAM INTO DB

We have a system which self-service kiosks connect to a back end. They retrieve whats called virtual prepaid cellular and other products etc.

Currently we purchase stock from a number of suppliers which send us txt files which we have to import into SQL DB via our APPS system.

Every supplier has their own format which we have setup on our system to import into our DB.

So we order on average 40 to 50 files a day of which each one has to be imported manually.

We want to improve the way and speed at which this gets imported.

So we want a program to call it maybe IMPORT and it should have the current import formats, as well as the option to create our own import formats.

Example: Current format of one supplier may be PIN NUMBER,SERIAL NUMBER,VALUE

We may decide in future to start with another supplier which has a different format to the ones on our system, so we should be able to create a NEW FORMAT on our system.

So if this new supplier’s format is: PIN NUMBER|SERIAL|VALUE

Then we need to be able to setup this program to import different types of formats using different types of characters, like this new one has a | instead of a comma ,

I have put some files as examples on the system. Some of them have headers and some have footers also.

I have also put screenshots of current APPS system which we use to import.

What I want to do is to put a whole lot of files in at once and import. Example:

One supplier may send me 30 files to import of which some may be for different networks. So I have attached spreadsheet of what it should look like so all 30 can be imported at once.

So all files would bring into this program from a specific folder which we setup in the program. Then setup each file on one screen to which network and which format should import.

There should be a report generated which can be viewed per import, per day, per week and per month.

One more thing to add to this, is we get these files on email mostly but sometimes purchase systems.

So for the stock which comes on email we currently save them into a folder called STOCK IMPORTING. Once the file is in there, it automatically decrypts the PGP encryped file and then places the txt files which i currently import one by one.

So i need the process to go as follows:

1) Check email and save all the files in STOCK IMPORTING folder. example 10 emails arrive.

2) Then retrieve the decrypted file from DECODED folder and place into the program to look like the IMPORTING SCREEN SHOULD LOOK LIKE [url removed, login to view]

3) I choose which format for all 10 emails ( choose format and network for each ) but on that one screen

4) Files import into the respective networks

5) Report is generated
