simplehuman is a California-headquartered international brand with a five-year expansion plan throughout the EMEA region. Our UK office (responsible for EMEA) requires a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer (on a short-term contract) to create BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge. The successful candidate will play an influential role in developing a best in class BI function. This is an excellent opportunity for an imaginative and people focussed developer who has the drive to assist with the development of a young dynamic business. The position is predominantly based in Goring-on-Thames; however, flexible and home working will be considered. There may be occasional travel to our Northamptonshire distribution centre. In this role, you should have a background in data and business analysis. You should be analytical and an excellent communicator. If you also have a business acumen and problem-solving aptitude, we’d like to meet you.
Responsibilities
• Translate business needs to technical specifications
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
• Design, build and deploy Power BI solutions
• Maintain and support data analytics platforms
• Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
• Develop and execute database queries and conduct analysis
• Develop and update technical documentation
Technical skills
• Proven experience as a BI Developer
• Experience in Qlikview
• Understanding of enterprise BI and data warehousing
• Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Proven abilities to take initiative and innovate
• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
Personal
• UK resident, clean drivers licence, UK/EU passport holder or able to work in the UK under permit
• Fluent English - verbal and written
