SSO solution for multiple PHP websites

Hi all!
I'll give you a quick background, I have two PHP applications running on an Ubuntu server, at the moment there are two user databases and when logging into both sites, the login credentials are tested against those two databases, normal stuff.
What I'd like is a SSO solution where if a user signs into 'Website 1', they should be logged into Website 1 & Website 2, and when they click logout on either Website 1 or Website 2, they should be logged out on both Website 1 and Website 2.
