[login to view URL] This is a website I have been maintaining for the last few months It is finally beginning to grow and is now getting a decent amount of organic traffic a shortcode is a 5 digit number that companies use to send text messages to people. for instance, if you wanted to change your Facebook password, Facebook would send you a text message notification from 32665 confirming it was you if you send a text message saying “help” to any shortcode number, you will get an auto response message with info about the company that uses it what i need is to have an automated system that goes through all of the short codes on my site, takes the shortcode number, sends the text “help” to the number, takes the response and puts it on the post for that number I have been looking into https://www.tropo.com. They are free for sending and receiving sms messages for development. Do you see the section where it says “For more information about the short code 31224, text “HELP” to 31224.” I need that to be changed from “For more information about the short code 31224, text “HELP” to 31224.” to instead “texting help to 31224 returned: (here is where we paste what texting “help” to the shortcode returned back to us)" And I need this to be done automatically on a somewhat regular basis to keep this information up to date, so maybe a cron job? So we need to setup a method to text all of these short codes the keyword “help” and then take that for those numbers and put the response message on each short code post separately for that section And I think that Tropo is our best bet for sending and receiving text messages for free [login to view URL] I think one option would be to save the response from the “help” text to the post table in the database Would you like to have some time to think this over and figure out how it should be done? I think a cron job scheduled to run every 7 days that runs a script which sends a text to the each short code and takes the response and saves it to the post table for each number and then updates the section would probably make the most sense This make sense for you?
