Custom weather map image/graphics in PHP

I have two data feeds of weather events that need to be converted into images on the fly. To accomplish this, I'd like to pass this feed to a PHP script, which generates a custom weather map as a static image.
There are two feeds that need to be converted:
#1 - A feed that requires the drawing of simple shapes with straight lines.
#2 - A feed that requires the placement of symbols on the map.
Notes
- I will provide mockups, and all images (for the map symbols)
