Create a Wordpress Plugin / Template

I am working on developing an informational website using Wordpress that displays the monthly sales figures from a large database of businesses. Currently I have a MySQL database set up with a master table containing all of the sales records for the past 12 months of each business. I can display the info with WPDataTables plugin, but I would like to take it a step further and let users click on the business's name and be directed to a webpage with more details. I would like to develop a Wordpress template or site-specific plugin that can accomplish this task. My understanding is that it would work something like this: user clicks on the business's name / hyperlink, a cookie is stored containing that business's unique ID, and the user is directed to a webpage 'template' which reads the unique ID, queries the database, and populates the page with the information pulled. I have linked a "Business Stats Page" example of what I envision. Also the image attached shows an overview of the data. The page should show all the data for a business pulled from the mysql database and display the 12 month sales on a HTML5 graph. My Wordpress theme has a drag and drop 'page builder' function that allows me to easily add widgets to my pages and posts (Used in the stats page example). If possible, creating a widget or multiple widgets for each function may be easier than creating a completely custom page.
