I think I'd rather suggest you a centos 7 machine, a virtual machine of any type and not a production server, for sure. PHP7 won't easily compile under CentOS 6 because there are too many dependent libraries that needs to be forcedly replaced and that could potentially destaiblize the OS, I have already tested myself on 6.3, 6.4 and 6.5 and the results were a complete disaster.
