There are many java-enabled phones out there with a GPS chip included. We want an appliction to run on such phones and report their location back to a server.

## Deliverables

For this project, we'll focus on Motorola's iDEN phones only (ideally i415 since it is cheap).

We are looking for a J2ME application to run on such phones to grab GPS data and send back to our server via HTTP POST (not through SMS but via GPRS network in the form of data).

This has been done by [[url removed, login to view]][1], [[url removed, login to view]][2], and many others already if you want to have a look.

We would like to stick to Motorola's iDEN mobile phone only since these have been used for such purpose by others but we can go to other phones as well if you know some phones with comparable cost and better performance.

You will be required to provide code, documentation (how application will be installed, operated, along with functional details/instructions).

Application needs to be self-started (when phone is truned ON) and need to keep running in the background until phone is turned back OFF. We can live with it not being in the background if it is not possible to run in background.

If phone loses GPRS signal for some reason, application should be able to reconnect to GPRS network whenever signal becomes available and start reporting GPS data again.

If phone loses GPS signal for some reason, application should be continue to look for signal by its own and report it back to the server as soon as it is available (or report something like "No GPS Data").

Server sould be able to send SMS to this phone to change reporting ferquency how often phone sends GPS data back to the server and it should support anywhere from once every second to once every 30 minutes.

Also, the phone should NOT report its location if it did not move for 5 minutes, and will resume reporting as soon as it starts moving again.

This is not required but nice to have: Contacts from phone's address phone would be able to place a call and listen to what is going on without ringing the bell or asking the user to accept the call.

If you can display phone location on Google Map in real time, please mention it when bidding and price within your bid. We will not be asking for very fancy pop-ups at google maps but basic balloon moving on the map in real time.

You also agree to provide:

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Thanks!
