Taskbar program similar to Gmail Notifier

**ETREE TASK NOTIFICATION SYSTEM.**

This project is for the creation of a notifier system that functions very similar to that of Gmail Notifier.

We need a downloadable program that presents as a task bar icon which will show alerts when new projects are posted for that particular user.

This program needs to work in real-time with a coldfusion backend that I will develop. When a new project is posted, all users included in that project should recieve a popup similar to Gmail Notifier's email alert that will fade in and out without needing to be clicked on.

It will appear as a small leaf-shaped taskbar icon that will show as a bright, glowing green when there are no alerts or tasks for that user, or a non-glowing dimmer green with a number representing the amount of tasks a person has left.

Each task will have a priority assigned to it - the number on the leaf should be a color representing the urgency of the most urgent item on the user's assigned tasks.

Attached is a graphic showing roughly how I would like it to work / function.

Bidder should provide a demo of a similar project they have done (task bar program). I will give preference to the coder who is also capable of providing an attractive interface, so it would help your bid if you could provide a sample of what you envision the leaf taskbar icon to look like (I don't have the graphical design capability of making the icon look great on the default windows taskbar).

*I will provide all the backend CMS unless it is easier for you to do so.*

**System features must include:**

- Must startup instantly when computer is turned on, with prompt to log-in (like Gmail Notifier)

- Instant fade-in alerts when a task is assigned to that user (pull from backend or database)

- Ability to click on popup to visit the site and view the alert or task.

## Deliverables

**Functionality:

**

1) Program must startup automatically when computer is turned on or restarted.

2) Program must not crash when computer is turned off / reset.

3) Login screen must be provided on startup so that each user gets their own tasks / alerts.

4) Tasks should fade in and out gracefully without being clicked on, but while fading if it is hovered over, it should stay at 100% opacity so that they can pause to read the task summary or click to be brought to their task on our site.

5) Double-clicking the icon should bring you to a URL I will provide.

**6) New graphics in the fashion I have provided should be created for the program so that it looks more attractive than my mockups.**

7) Instructions must be included as to what the backend needs to provide for the program to work.

**Standard RAC Deliverable rules still apply:**

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
