233057 htaccess issue

My site has a ton a rules listed in the htaccess file and i cannot enter in a new line for a directory password protection because problems occur. I need to password protect the homepage but it will not work until I find someone to create a site sub folder with its own .htaccess. For example: [login to view URL] -> .htaccess with the password protection [login to view URL] -> [login to view URL] file with a redirect to site [login to view URL] -> .htaccess with Rewrite conditions [login to view URL] -> Site data Need this done asap. Please use pmb to explain what I am looking for. I need to know you understand what I am talking about. Basically I am looking to have a the Directory Password Protected in one htaccess file and the rest of the rewrite rules in the other without messing anything up.
