I have a website on a dedicated Linux server that sends out emails and I need to throttle outgoing messages. I understand phplist can do this, and so im guessing best solution is to integrate this into my website.
The website is a community website and emails are sent in the following four situations:
1) When users receieve internal messages from other members.
2) When users are rated by other members.
3) When users request their login details.
4) When users invite their friends to join the community.
All of these emails are sent automtically using php script and the emails all have working unsubscribe links and are currently all getting passed all major email provider filters (including hotmail) and are arriving in inboxes.
I'm not sure of the best way to manage this, but in your bid can you tell me if you will need to alter the php code of the current scripts that send these emails, and to what degree thay will need to be altered; or will you simply be able to install software that will manage outgoing emails without the need to change the php code.
I also understand that hotmail, yahoo, gmail and aol (and maybe others) have limits in regard to the number of emails that can be sent to their domain in one hour. I also understand that phplist already had this feature built in. I would also require this to be implemented.
