jQuery/Javascript/PHP scripts to allow for text to be entered into various form fields based on the width of the fields not the number of characters. We have created several different form templates allowing users to pull up a product template image, containing default product text, customize the form input by modifying the product text, then submitting the form to a customized PHP script containing a modified version of tFPDF. The output will place their custom text into specific fields on each product image. The problem is, we need the text for each form field to be based on the width of the field not the number of characters. For example, there is a vast difference in potential field size depending on the specific characters entered into each field: “XXXXXXXXXXXX” is vastly different in size as compared to “iiiiiiiiiiiii”. We want the customer to be able to use the entire width of the field. Each product may include one to ten form fields; each uniquely placed within a template. We are using UTF-8 with a Server Side True Type Unicode font called [login to view URL], supporting multiple languages. Submitted scripts must work on all forms/form-fields regardless of the location of the field. Submitted scripts must allow for character submission/validation using up to, but not exceeding, the full width of each field. Scripts will be run on an Apache webserver including PHP 5.2.17. Bottom line: we need a script that will allow a user to take full advantage of the width of a form field without regard to the number of characters submitted. If the field is 170 pixels wide a user should be able to use up to the entire 170 pixels width without going beyond. If the field is 30 pixels wide a user should be able to use up to the entire 30 pixel width without going beyond. Ideally the validation should first be done with JavaScript then PHP validation on the backend. We are open to consider alternatives if we pre-approve them first. We need this script tested and complete by August 29, 2013. If necessary we can show samples of some of the templates we will be using. We will only consider bidders who have a full grasp/understanding of the project and technologies needed to complete the project.
