We are looking for someone to develop a JAVA (cross-platform: Windows/Linux/OSX) desktop application with an installer (freeware) included for all OSses with the possibility for a custom icon if possible. The application is basicly a fancy quicklauncher with a twist. It needs to communicate with an online MYSQL db through online (existing) .php files (use the Jakarta commons HTTP client or similar). Attached you'll find a screenshot that says it all. It shows all the different options. 1. At startup the application needs to check an encrypted textfile if a profile is set. if no profile is set yet: * a sign up button will appear * The tab 'more info' is active (with the text shown in img.) if a profile is set: * a quicklaunch button will appear. When clicked on it, the application will POST the username and password to our site, open the default browser and gets redirected to the secure area (existing .php files). * the news tab is visible. 2. Tab 'sign up' * a login form will appear in the tab-section - this needs to communicate with our db through the existing .php files (like the online form does) - if succesfully logged in, the encrypted textfile needs to write the profile setting. (username and password) 3. Tab 'news' This tab needs show the latest blog posts (read from existing .php file) The news is clickable and will take the user to the appropriate URL. 4. The contact and donate tab will open the browser and take the user to the appropriate URLS. When a user profile is set, the tab 'news' has to be active at startup (in stead of the tab 'more info' thats active when there isn't a profile). We would like the application to show up frameless if possible. If the application is frameless: a close button has te be implemented.
