This project involves deciphering serial communications between legacy software (10+ years old) and a hardware controller device which is connected to the PC via the serial port. Once serial communication instructions and protocols to and from the hardware controller have been deciphered, a C++ (or other) program must be written to handle these communications. This C++ (or other) based program will be a middleware or driver that must be controllable via XML-based communication. The middleware program will become a servlet which is downloaded to the user's PC to support interaction with the Serial Hardware controller via a web application.
## Deliverables
1) Complete list of deciphered serial communication instructions.
2) Return of all legacy software and hardware controllers as required.
3) C++ (or other) application able to send instructions and receive responses from serial port hardware controller.
4) All source code and compiler tools and instructions.
5) All worldwide rights to all software and IP developed.
