The site content is very much comic/light hearted stories oriented, and is designed for users to browse high quality e-book style materials, (here we call each content topic a "book", as you will be able to see later on that the content display is a flip book flash). I would like you to come up with a frame design of the homepage to see if our minds come together, we can then proceed to the full structure design. Hope that's ok.
So now I'll give you a brief overview of my idea. If you could refer to the attached picture, that'd be good. Please bear in mind that the picture is only an indication of what components/modules I'd like to have on the homepage, the actual arrangement is for you to show off your creative mind :D
Here are the specific requirements:
-The style of the page must be in line with the comic/light hearted contents of course! (Please see http://211.155.227.6:8001/homepage/[url removed, login to view], click the blue vertical bar to see the page. This is a beta version of the main book display frame--not really ready yet but you can get a feel of it)
-Width of the whole page: standard full page width (1024 pixels or a bit less--no horizontal scrolling!)
-The first screen should contain: top banner, menu bar, main book display frame, latest book and book ranking, (maybe the top bits of the login window, so that users can see that they can register! -- but it's for you to decide whether it's suitable!)
-Then scroll down, you'll find: book selection format 1&2, login, picture/video ads, and bottom menus. Book selection formats are the main modules for headlines/book head display, in which I can insert flash, video, picture or text. And I'll be able to create as many such module frames as I like.
-For the ads, I want it to be noticeable, but not disturbing, and should be well integrated with the whole page.
-Lastly, while you let your creativity fly, please do keep the homepage file to a reasonable size:)
This is pretty much all I'd like you to do for the homepage for now. As I said earlier, I'd like you to show me a frame design of it and give me a quote of the whole website. And for the whole website, other than the homepage, there're an individual book display page, and miscellaneous pages for a fully functioning website (eg. user sign up, about us etc.) -- a full requirement specification will be provided to you once we agree to carry on the design. Please note that the website is devided into many modules so AJAX is a must.
