I have already done this type of tasks in our projects. While i am working on project at that time i have to convert .bak files into .sql files because on server we have lower version sql server installed and we have back up file from higher version. So, there i have first convert these .bak files into .sql files and after that run these .sql scripts on installed lower version server.
