Write an iPhone application

Powerline Control Systems is the developer of the PulseWorx lighting system. This powerline communication based system – known as UPB - allows for control of lighting and appliances in a home environment. At this time PCS is looking for mobile application programmers to develop an iOS and an Android application to interface to a new lighting control system called the PulseWorx Gateway. This PulseWorx Gateway is communicated with over a TCP/IP connection. Elements of the application include: 1. User configuration of the connection parameters and other interface settings 2. Establishing a connection to the Gateway and interacting with it using a PCS defined protocol. 3. Reading a number tables from the Gateway file system in order for the application to define the devices in the UPB network as well as their current state 4. Using the definition of the UPB network read from the Gateway, crafting a user interface to show the rooms and devices in the rooms and their state. 5. Crafting a user interface actions that allow for control of devices – on, off, dim – as well as interacting with virtual keypads 6. Understanding and being able to send and receive commands in the UPB format. UPB commands are necessary to both control a device and also for the application to maintain its state as UPB commands are received. 7. Crafting an interface for creating, viewing, and modifying a time based schedule that is stored in the lighting control system. PCS is willing to have a single developer implement both the iOS and Android application or the project can be split between two developers. PCS has a Windows application that presents a view of the user interface to be implemented. Full C++ sources for this application are available. This application also contains a number of tools for developers to aid in understanding the data the application must read from the gateway. In addition, complete documentation of all the protocols and data structures is available. Once the project begins the application developer will receive hardware to assemble a test lighting system. The developer who undertakes this work will be working closely with a PCS engineer to answer any questions during the development cycle. The completed applications would be submitted to the Android and Apple App Stores directly by PCS. Work on this project would be on a fixed cost basis with a set of developmental milestones. We would like to see some other apps you have written and know that you are qualified to do this.
