We are seeking a seasoned Java expert with extensive experience in Apache POI to create and modify Excel sheets. The ideal candidate should possess years of full-time expertise in both Java and Apache POI with a focus on Excel functionalities. The primary task involves implementing logic to modify Excel documents based on specific requirements.
Mandatory Requirement:
Applicants must have their own MS Excel for reading and utilizing XLSX docs.
Milestones:
MS1:
Create a new Excel XLSX file from an existing one and copy the contents of two sheets into the new Excel XLSX.
The sheets to copy contain pivot tables referencing data on another sheet.
Copied content only includes pivot data in the new Excel XLSX, omitting references and formulas (akin to the "paste special" operation in Excel).
MS2:
To be determined.
No UI is required at this stage.
No database is required.
No REST endpoint exposure for the mentioned methods is necessary; only consumption of the provided APIs.
Your Background:
Multiple years of experience with Java.
Multiple years of experience with Apache POI.
If you prove to be a good fit, additional tasks for independent implementation may be offered.

Payment Process:
You estimate in a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) after receiving the task.
We discuss clearances and effort.
Mutual agreement on effort.
Task assignment.
Implementation, testing, and delivery.
Provision of unit/integration tests to ensure continuous functionality.
Documentation of each required step for system interaction.
Testing on our premises, with potential collaboration to address issues.
Payment, following the rules of the freelancer platform.
Closed Book vs. Open Book:
We strictly work on an open book basis. A closed book approach, where a WBS is not defined, and only a price tag is provided, will not be considered.
Deliverables:
In our on-premise Git (access granted to you).
Full source code.
Multiple samples of request and response APIs in test/resources for unit tests.
Maven.
Libraries (confirmation needed, preference for latest stable versions).
JDK 17 (mostly LTS).
Code functionality on our end.
Successful passing of our CI build (with provided Maven [login to view URL]).
Assistance with setup if required.
Depending on availability and complexity, we anticipate a 2-4 week test time per milestone, usually less.
