start tomcat-7 with more memory

you need to add somthing like the following to tell the max memory your tomcat can use JAVA_OPTS="-server -Xms1536m -Xmx1536m -XX:NewSize=256m -XX:MaxNewSize=256m -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:+Disable Mais
