Based on our experience and the comments included in your EPR guidelines, in all honesty we feel there is quite a bit of work required to ensure the regulators expectations and the EPR guidelines are satisfied. A couple of the more significant ones are as follows: The document should follow the outline of the assessment guidelines and each section should be addressed. Integration of the natural and human elements of the environment in order to explain the interrelationships between the physical and biological aspects and people and their communities, including discussion of any and all potential impacts, mitigation measures to address those impacts, throughout all Project phases (construction to closure/decommissioning/rehabilitation) Details on the "eco" aspects of the Project design (e.g., green building materials to be used, water efficiency systems, bio filters) Explanation of maintenance activities, foreseeable modifications, closure/decommissioning/rehabilitation plans Description of environmental management plans that will be in place to handle potential effects and illustrate compliance with provincial and federal regulations and Acts (e.g., waste management, hazardous materials, accidental spills, sediment/erosion control, avifauna management plan Effects of weather and climate change on the Project (mitigation of extreme weather events, consideration of coastal erosion in Project design, sensitivity to climate change, incorporation of climatological and hydrometric station data) Was there an archaeology assessment completed Has full approval been granted by Crown Lands or any other applicable development association and/or landowners.
