Good knowledge on Arduino board to build any kinds of prototype Digital Device to control or read sensors data and send it to the web server or process others purpose. Have use ESP8266 wifi module to send sensors data to the web server by using Arduino board. I can build this Hall Effect Sensor with Wifi project. Its a pretty straight forward and easy task, i can program you a esp script to detect motion and post data to someplace over the network (locally or over internet) and also use deepsleep so that power consumption is also very low. about 20 micro volts and during operation about 60 milli volts, i have built this in the past for my home automation system so if you want i can give you a demo of my system as well, feel free to check my profile or text me for more information.

Hi. interesting project. The option you have chosen from esp8266 is excellent for the use of wifi. To turn off the device while it is not being used, it can be programmed to enter sleep mode after a certain period of inactivity. The hall effect sensor is also a good option for this application. On the other hand, remember that if there is no communication interface with the device, the user and the password of the equipment will be only in the code of the esp8266 and can only be changed by modifying the code. Hi, the system can be built with ESP32, it has a low power mode which can be easily switched to regular mode.
