Lesson Plans for Elementary, Middle, and High School

This project requires a teacher or a writer with an interest or background in education to create a series of lesson plans to assist teachers in delivering lessons on the topic of ‘Developing Values’.

‘Developing Values’ has been broken down further into the areas of:

1. Telling the truth/Honesty

2. Cheating/Integrity

3. Being Fair/Fairness

4. Kindness/Compassion/Supporting Others/Social Justice

5. Being Responsible/Responsibility

6. Cooperation

7. Being Different/Acceptance of Diversity/Not Judging others

8. Good manners/Respect

9. Being Friendly/Friendliness

This project requires variations of each lesson to be created for 4 different age groups:

5-7 years: Lower Elementary

8-10 years: Middle Elementary

11-14 years: Upper Elementary/Junior High

14-16 years: High School

A level of creativity and flair is required in developing each lesson plan and the use of games, group activities, story telling, worksheets, handouts, and scenes from popular feature films to illustrate each concept is encouraged.

## Deliverables

This project is probably more suited to people who have experience in the school system of developed countries.

Bidders from developing countries are welcome to bid, however you must include a sample lesson plan to help us evaluate your ability to produce a quality of work at the level we require.

This project requires the creation of a total of 36 lesson plans (250-400 words each )for teachers. Below is an example of the style and detail required:

**Lower Elementary: Developing Values: Honesty**

In a circle, share the story of Pinocchio with your class.

**Summary of Pinocchio:** Gepetto is a woodcutter who creates a wooden puppet called Pinocchio. A fairy grants his wish that his puppet becomes a human boy. Whenever Pinocchio tells a lie his nose grows longer but he finally learns to be honest. *(There is also a 1940 animated Walt Disney Version of Pinocchio you could watch with your class)*

Then ask the children to tell a partner one thing about their family or a pet that is true and one thing that is a lie. Their partner’s task is to guess which statement is true and which one is a lie. Then they swap roles.

Back in the circle ask:

* How did it feel? to be told a lie?

* How did it feel to tell the lie?

* Talk about what it means to be honest (Being honest means telling the truth, not stealing, giving things back when they belong to somebody else and ‘owning up’ when you have done something wrong.)

* How do you feel when somebody tells you a lie?

* How do you feel when somebody takes something of yours?

* How do you feel when somebody doesn’t own up to what they have done?

* How do people treat you after they find out you’ve been dishonest?

Talk about why it is important to be honest and why it is important to tell the truth (being honest is fair and respects the rights of others; people cant trust you; if they trust you people will like you more and want you as a friend; you feel like a decent person and you fell better about yourself; your parents will be proud of you)

Ask what happens to people who tell lies or take things that belong to other people (People don’t trust them any more; if something else is stolen they are the first to be blamed; they don’t feel good about themselves and don’t like themselves much; people don’t want to be their friends; they get a bad reputation because people think they will do it again)
