Dear Internet Guru’s,
We are requiring a capable programmer to tweak our website, still a work in progress, that has been grafted together from my limited dreamweaver html editing skills and an application we have purchased and already integrated into our site called “20/20 realtor” ([login to view URL])
Database: Microsoft Access 2000
Our website is exclusively for private sellers (no commission payable); they will have the option of three packages to choose from. Each offering a different set of features, at a different price …they will also have the ability to add in additional features for a small extra cost. These features will allow them to create their listing online, have a for sale sign posted to their address, and access to a secure members area where they can get tip/tricks on selling. Currently we have the listing information for each category, but the “place order” links are inactive, and need to be integrated into an e-commerce solution we have yet to create. We want the customer/seller to be able to choose a listing, create a login/password, then upload their photos, type a description of their house, select check boxes re: #bedrooms etc, preview their listing, summary of what’s included in their package and cost, then be directed to a secure page where they can pay for it with a credit card. Once the payment is approved their listing is made active and immediately viewable to buyers.
The buyers that come to the website will have the ability to save their searches, and have saved searched emailed automatically to them as a listing is created that matches their criteria. Those interested in subscribing to our newsletter will have access to a membership area tailored to tips/tricks for buyers. They will not have access to the seller’s membership area.
Some of these features are already included with the 20/20 realtor application we purchased, so please check it out at the link provided above …however, we would want you to modify this package (hence the need of an *.asp programmer) to include the package options, payment procedure etc. as well as change the way a user uploads pictures so that it’s easier. More like eBay.
Our site currently has 7 main categories: home, buy, sell, useful tips and advice, need help, about us, contact us. “Buy” and “sell” are controlled by the 20/20 application that has its own style template file for display preferences etc. We would like a similar style template (or the same) governing the whole of the website. So that we can make major changes to the look in the template(s) and have every page updated to reflect the new look. Currently, each page (except for the “buy” and “sell” links) needs updating separately.
Additional stuff we want included is:
• Login area accessible on every page (so included in the style template), based on the users login they will be taken to the relevant area. If they are a buyer, then they only go to buyer accessible areas of the site. If they are a seller, then they can modify their listing, see seller related information etc.
• Random selection of properties to be included on the home page (as “featured properties”, with listings bought on a more expensive package the priority.
• Geographical map of Australia, with states clickable to a more advanced search option re: ([login to view URL])
• Help section created using flash, and/or regular HTML; if the user has a flash capable browser then they automatically see the flash example illustrating how to sell their home privately using our site. If they do not have flash, then the HTML version is loaded (with the option to download flash from macromedia’s website as a miniaturized option)
• HTML newsletter created that has some of the menus on our home page, and especially the look of our site, with areas designated for us to easily type in information.
• Search for help feature added on “help” page
• “Contact us” page to be a ‘form’ with required and optional areas, as well as the opportunity to leave feedback.
• Ability to stream Realmedia (any other suggestions?) video from the site, typically these clips will be in the tips/tricks sections. [login to view URL] does a great job of streaming video, we want something similar. We will provide the (56k, ISDN, Cable modem) files for integration into the site.
• [login to view URL] also does a great job of their “Today’s Top Stories”, we want something similar on our site (gradated wiping slideshow etc.)
• Some nice flash programming of little flags popping up all over the map to locations that have properties for sale?? (obviously, this is not something we need now, but we’ll entertain quotes)
• We have an idea for a 3-D flash application on our website; however, we’ll need you to sign a confidentiality agreement before we disclose any details. If you have experience in 3D and Flash then please also drop in a bid for this project, if that’s all you do then quote: “3-D Flash Application”

We will provide a PowerPoint file with detailed information on how we want the site to look, with each page fully spec’d on what needs to be created. Obviously, we will listen to your ideas and allow you to insert your vision into this project. We would be happy for you to include our site in any marketing of your services you wish to conduct in the future, however, all software created/manipulated including icons, graphics etc. must be owned by Wicked Concepts.
You will need to sign a confidentiality agreement before any work commences, and all payments to be made at completion of deliverables. If you so desire, we can create mini-deadlines that will require payment by us before the next stage is started. We have a USA bank account and can transfer funds easily to any US citizens. All payments to the rest of the world (barring Australia) must be discussed before the brief is sent. We understand that all bids be placed in US $’s.
Thank you for your time,
and I do hope to be working with you soon.
Cheers!
